Northwest favorite and new Artistic Director of the Mostly Nordic Chamber Music Series in Seattle, soprano Laura Loge will be joined by Canadian/Danish pianist Sandra Mogensen, celebrated for her performances and recordings of Edvard Grieg’s lyric pieces for piano as well as collaborations with singers from the Nordic countries. Together they will bring to life Edvard Grieg’s duplicitous Vinje songs, opus 33, highlighting the poetry A. O. Vinje written in nynorsk steeped with elements of the Telemark dialect and Norwegian folkeviser, opus 66, for piano. This concert is hosted by the Norwegian House Society. Freewill donation at the door.
The Scandinavian Community Centre (SCC) is a non-profit organization that has evolved into a meeting place for the community at large through the energy and effort of dedicated volunteers for more than ten years.
