Bruce Stout, a Director and Past-President of the Vancouver Electric Vehicle Association, has been driving a 100 percent Battery Powered Electric Vehicle (BEV) since March 2013. In May of 2015, Bruce and his wife Susan, drove their Tesla Model S, the 18,000 Kilometers, from Vancouver to Halifax and back, using only Canadian charging stations at an estimated cost of $36.
As overall winners of the E-Mazing race they visited more charging stations than any other driver during the one-month period of this cross Canada rally. This is a great opportunity to get your questions answered about BEVs from someone who has driven BEVs over 100,000 kilometers.

CFF Presentation on Alvar Aalto

Canadian Friends of Finland

Welcomes you to A Presentation on Alvar Aalto

Join Bob and Ron Poutt and Barry Lambert for a presentation illustrated with numerous slides about the greatest Finnish architect of his day and one of the most important 20th century architects anywhere, Alvar Aalto. His career spanned the first 60 years of Finland’s independence, and his iconic furniture and Aalto vase are all still produced.

While he designed impressive and important buildings, he also improved the lives of large numbers of ordinary Finns through his involvement in
reconstruction and design of modest housing after the Winter and Continuation Wars.

If you enjoyed last year’s presentation on Akseli Gallen-Kallela you will be sure to enjoy hearing about Alvar Aalto.

The Runeberg Chorus will also entertain us.

Admission by donation. Refreshments
