Danish House Society’s Club Night

Meet 6’ish to get your meal tickets and table number and enjoy a drink. Smørrebrod is served at 7 pm. To reserve: Ebba Grey 604–990-3550 or by Email. You MUST BOOK and order your open faced sandwiches by the Tuesday of the same week. This popular event books up quickly so call early!

Enjoy a fine selection of open faced sandwiches, dessert, coffee and tea. Wash down with Snaps and Carlsberg.

Scandinavian Dancing

Fun, friendly couple dancing for all ages! Both couples and singles welcome. We enjoy the music and folk dances (set dances and couple dances) of Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. Come join our fun and friendly atmosphere! New members welcome!

Beginner Classes

Come learn the basics — waltz, polka, schottis, hambo, polska and others!
Registration required — Couples and singles are welcome.

Where: Scandinavian Community Centre
Cost: $50 per person for all 9 sessions and includes a DVD of the basic dances and club membership for the term.

NHS Movie Matinee — “Ni Liv”

Ni Liv (90 mins) is in Norwegian with English subtitles. This award-winning, Norwegian classic is a B&W dramatic film from 1957. It is the fascinating story of Jan Baalsrud’s escape from occupied Norway to Sweden during WWII. The movie is not suitable for children. A children’s movie will be shown in the Norway Room at the same time.
