Vinarterta Baking Class


Date: Saturday October 14, 2017
Time: 9am to 1pm
Location: Scandinavian Community Centre main kitchen
Cost: The cost will be $25 which covers the cost of the ingredients.
Plan: A one-day class to teach you how to make complete vinarterta: the prune filling, the ‘cookie’ rounds and how to bake them, put it all together, and you will take the vinarterta home.

We will follow the old recipe from the 1800s. We hope to provide one teacher per two students.

National of Museum of Iceland Presentation

Join us in welcoming Margrét Hallgrímsdóttir, Head of the National of Museum of Iceland and the Culture House to the Scandinavian Community Centre. Margaret will give a presentation on the museum and introduce her new book on Icelandic artifacts. The presentation will be in the library with refreshments served in the Iceland Room after the talk. Please join us for what will be a very interesting talk.
