Scandinavian Midsummer Festival

Mid­sum­mer 2018

Sat­ur­day fea­tures include on-stage enter­tain­ment, Mar­ket Place, children’s games, Viking Vil­lage, rais­ing the May Pole, cul­tur­al dis­plays, Scan­di­na­vian food. Sun­day fea­tures also include a pan­cake break­fast and the famous wife-car­ry­ing con­test.

Thank you to all the 60 vol­un­teers who came to our clean up day on Sat­ur­day May 12. They got to meet oth­er vol­un­teers, and to know the Cen­tre from top to bot­tom!

Break­fast was made by the Finnish War Vet­er­ans, and lunch was pro­vid­ed by Ice­land House.

Our next clean up day will be held Sat­ur­day Novem­ber 3rd, 2018.

 

Spring Clean-Up

This is a great way to meet the oth­er vol­un­teers, and to get to know the Cen­tre from top to bot­tom!

When: 8:30am — 3pm. Break­fast by the Finnish War Vet­er­ans at 8:30.  Lunch pro­vid­ed by Ice­land House at 12.30pm.

The Scan­di­na­vian Mid­sum­mer Fes­ti­val, in its 23rd year, attracts thou­sands of vis­i­tors. Our crafters offer some­thing spe­cial and excit­ing, be it tra­di­tion­al crafts with an inno­v­a­tive twist of some­thing cul­tur­al­ly rel­e­vant. The 2019 fes­ti­val dates are June 22 and 23, 2019. Appli­ca­tions will be avail­able in Novem­ber 2018.

Scandinavian Seniors Lunch 55+

All seniors wel­come.

Time: Noon
Cost: $3 if you bring a plate of sand­wich­es, cakes or cook­ies to share, OR $8 if you pre­fer not to bring food.
