Call to Crafters — Midsummer Festival Craft Fair

Craft vendor display at Midsummer FestivalThe Scandinavian Midsummer Festival is looking for High Quality Crafters for our Craft Fair
June 18th and 19th, 2011.

The deadline for applications has past, but you may contact the office to see if there is still space

The Scandinavian Midsummer Festival, in its 16th year, attracts thousands of visitors. We are now looking for crafters who can offer us something special and exciting, be it traditional crafts with an innovative twist of something culturally relevant.

We offer you a table at our festival for TWO days for just $75+HST.  The festival will be advertised on JRfm Radio, in the Vancouver Sun and The Province as well as in local newspapers and last year the festival appeared on several television newscasts. The fun and crazy wife-carrying contest always draws a lot of attention along with continuous entertainment all weekend.

During the Craft Fair there will be:

  • Continuous on-stage entertainment
  • Children’s games
  • An authentic Viking Village (the Vikings actually camp out all weekend!)
  • The raising of and dancing around the traditional May Pole
  • Cultural displays
  • Scandinavian food

On Saturday night North America’s #1 ABBA tribute band, Abra Cadabra will perform.  Sunday morning will bring a Father’s Day Breakfast. The Festival will close with the Midsummer Festival Lottery with a grand prize of two return airfares to any city in Scandinavia or your choice, donated by IcelandAir (value of $6,090), and the ever so popular wife Carrying Contest.

If you would like to participate at the Craft Fair, please send us the following:
