Goddar June 4 photoICCBC presents:  Guð­mundur Odd­ur Mag­nús­son, Pro­fes­sor of Graph­ic Design at the Ice­landic Acad­e­my of the Arts since 2002

As a schol­ar, he inves­ti­gates the her­itage of Ice­landic imagery and sym­bol. He hosts reg­u­lar shows about cul­ture on Ice­landic tele­vi­sion.  In the sum­mers, he lives in an old fac­to­ry in Seyð­is­fjörður, on the east coast, where old and new friends join him for the bright sum­mer nights. God­dur is at the heart of alche­my of the art scene. He will give a pre­sen­ta­tion about the roots of Ice­landic visu­al cul­ture and how the­se roots reflect today in vivid con­tem­po­rary cre­ative fields.

God­dur is a grad­u­ate of Emi­ly Carr and enter­tain­ing speak­er.  Let’s wel­come him back to Van­cou­ver on this vis­it and learn from him.
