How Swede it is!

Wel­come to Swe­den House Soci­ety (SHS), a non-profit orga­ni­za­tion that coor­di­nates var­i­ous activ­i­ties for many Swedish orga­ni­za­tions through­out the Lower Main­land. It was estab­lished as an orga­ni­za­tion in 1991 and has actively been pro­mot­ing Swedish cul­ture, events and tra­di­tions ever since.

SHS is a home away from home, bring­ing you many trea­sured Swedish tra­di­tions such as Val­borg, Mid­som­mar and Lucia to name a few. Every event, work­shop and gath­er­ing is made pos­si­ble because of indi­vid­u­als that cher­ish the Swedish her­itage and vol­un­teer their time to make sure they are not forgotten.

To take part in the Swedish com­mu­nity in British Colum­bia all you have to do is become a mem­ber of any one of the Swedish mem­ber orga­ni­za­tions that belong to SHS.

Many life­long friend­ships have been made over the years and why not take the oppor­tu­nity to brush up on your Swedish every now and then! Par­tic­i­pate in events and donate some of your time to ensure the Swedish cul­ture lives on abroad; you will have lots of fun doing it!
