EUROPEAN REFUGEE CRISIS

Date: Wednesday, September 13, 2017 – 6 pm to 9 pm

Azza Rojbi is a peace and social justice activist in Vancouver. She immigrated to Canada from Tunisia in 2011 and has since been involved in the immigrant and refugee community in Vancouver. She is a writer and researcher on the issue of immigration and refugees in Canada as well as on the current refugee crisis in Europe. Azza will be providing a balanced and facts-based presentation that will inform and enlighten us on this important issue. Also, we will be presenting our Annual Scholarship Award to this year’s recipient at this event.

The European migrant crisis, or the European refugee crisis, is a term given to a period beginning in 2015 when rising numbers of people arrived in the European Union (EU), travelling across the Mediterranean Sea or overland through Southeast Europe.
